Terms of service
The terms for reading this site, holding an account, and buying a report, a due-diligence file or monitoring from us. They are written to be read, and where something matters most it is said plainly.
1. Who we are
This site is run by Veracent Intelligence Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17475323, registered office 80 Scraptoft Lane, Leicester, England, LE5 1HW (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at info@veracentintelligence.co.uk.
2. What our reports are, and what they are not
A report is a record of what public sources state about a firm on the date each source was read: statutory registers, filed accounts and the firm’s own published documents. Every finding quotes and links to its source.
A report is not financial, investment, legal or tax advice, not a rating, and not a recommendation to use, avoid or deal with any firm. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. You remain responsible for your own decisions, and for any regulatory obligations you have, including your own due diligence. A report can support that work but does not replace your judgement.
Sources change after we read them. A report can also contain errors. We correct findings shown to be wrong and publish every correction in the corrections log, but we do not promise that any report is complete, current or free of error.
3. Using the site
Published reports are free to read. You may quote from them, and share them within your own firm, as long as you credit Veracent Intelligence and link to the report. You may not copy the site or its reports in bulk, scrape them by automated means, resell them, or present them as your own work. The source documents we quote belong to their owners.
You must not use the site in a way that damages it, interferes with other people’s use of it, or tries to get into parts of it you are not meant to reach.
4. Accounts
Give accurate details when you sign up and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can close it at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that is being misused, and will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
5. Reports, due-diligence files and monitoring
Commissioned reports, due-diligence files and monitoring are sold to businesses, for use in the course of their business, and not to consumers. Our current prices and what each service includes are on the commission page, the platform file page and the safeguarding page.
How an order for a commissioned report works
- You tell us the firm you want covered. Before anything is agreed, we check it against the registers and its published documents and tell you whether a report can be completed from public sources.
- A contract is formed when we confirm in writing (email is fine) the firm, the price and the delivery date, and you accept.
- We aim to deliver a single report within two working days of that confirmation, unless we agree a different date.
- If a finished report cannot reach our published evidence threshold, you are not charged, and you still receive what we found.
Safeguarding due-diligence files
- A file covers one bank, insurer or custodian that holds, or may hold, your safeguarded funds. It is addressed to your firm and contains what the safeguarding page describes on the day you order.
- A contract is formed when you pay by card, or when we confirm in writing the institution or institutions, the price and the delivery date and you accept.
- We deliver within three working days of payment, or of that written confirmation if we are invoicing you. Founding orders placed before 19 October 2026 are delivered from that date.
- If we cannot complete a file to our published standard for that institution, we tell you, and you are refunded in full or not charged.
- Each file includes twelve months of alerts when the institution’s FCA Register record changes, including its disciplinary history. It does not renew automatically.
- A file supports your own assessment; it does not replace it. It is not an audit, it does not approve or reject any institution, and using it does not by itself meet any regulatory obligation. You remain responsible for selecting, appointing and reviewing the institutions that hold your safeguarded funds, and for your compliance with CASS 15 and any other rule that applies to you.
- What you tell us for a file, including which institutions you use and any figures for the concentration worksheet, is confidential. We use it only to prepare your file and its alerts, and we do not disclose it, or that you are our client, unless you ask us to or the law requires it.
Paying
- Single reports are invoiced on delivery and payable within 14 days, unless you have paid in advance by card.
- A safeguarding due-diligence file is priced per institution as shown on the safeguarding page when you order. It is paid by card when you order, or invoiced and payable before delivery.
- A platform due-diligence file is £149 per platform for twelve months, paid by card when you order or invoiced and payable within 14 days. It includes a dated copy of the report, a refreshed copy each quarter, and an email when the platform’s FCA Register entry records a change. It does not renew automatically.
- Monitoring is billed monthly in advance by card or invoice. You can cancel at any time with one month’s notice. You pay for the notice month and nothing after it.
- We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged.
- We may charge interest on late payments at the rate allowed by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Refunds are covered in our refund policy. Any offer we agree with you in writing, such as a founding-client guarantee, applies as well.
Using what you buy
A commissioned report or due-diligence file is for use within your own firm, including showing it to your regulator, auditors and professional advisers. You may not resell it or publish it in full. We keep the copyright.
A consultancy that buys a file for a client may pass it to that client for use within the client’s own firm, on trade terms we agree with the consultancy in writing.
We may later publish a report on the same firm on this site, as we do for every firm we cover. We never say who commissioned a report unless you ask us to.
Independence
We are paid by the people who use our reports, never by the firms they cover. Paying for a report does not buy any influence over its findings. A firm cannot commission, edit or remove a report about itself.
6. Firms we write about
If you represent a firm we cover and believe a finding is wrong, write to corrections@veracentintelligence.co.uk. We will provide the evidence behind any finding, correct what we got wrong, and publish a statement of up to 300 words alongside anything we still disagree about.
7. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.
Otherwise, we are not liable for any decision you make, or any loss you suffer, from relying on a published report you have not paid for. For paid services, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, or for any indirect loss. Our total liability to you arising from paid services in any twelve months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. The terms in force when you place an order apply to that order.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy.
